Fear of Flying Hypnotherapy
Fear of flying is very common, perhaps not surprisingly, as flying is a very unnatural thing for humans to do. It is a phobia resulting from fear being generated in the subconscious mind. Trying to use logic or quoting statistics about just how safe flying is does nothing to help the sufferer. They know it is irrational and these arguments just make them feel weak and inadequate. But fear of flying can affect anyone, regardless of age, intelligence or gender. The good news is that hypnotherapy is effective in rapidly removing it, often in 3 sessions or less.
Fear of flying interferes with modern life for a significant proportion of individuals by preventing holidays, attending family events or even accepting jobs involving travel abroad. There can be further effects such as impacting on relationships or taking pills or drinking to mask the symptoms. Symptoms can include all the classic phobia reactions such as sweating, hyperventilating, panic attacks etc.
The fear has been learnt from events somewhere in the past, possibly as far back as childhood. These events may have been long since forgotten by the conscious mind, but the feelings certainly have not been forgotten by the subconscious mind, which brings them to the fore when prompted by certain triggers. There are many possible triggers during the flying experience, and each individual is different in their response. It could be simply booking the flight which sets it off, or boarding the plane, or flight turbulence. Other fears such as claustrophobia could also be feeding the problem.
Getting Back in Control
Hypnotherapy treats the root cause of the fear for each individual. Control is gained over unconscious reactions and thinking processes, resulting in changes in behaviour. A much calmer response follows, opening the way for confidence to flow, enabling you to literally see the world with much less fear. You might even enjoy the flying experience, many people do.
The sessions will be tailored to your individual needs to ensure the best possible outcome, but in general I expect fear of flying to be resolved in between 2 and 4 sessions.
